The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Today Luke, Kendal, Noah and Ryan did a play for the class and for their parents - the Three Billy Goats Gruff! Noah was the troll and had an amazing mask which his Dad made. Ryan, Luke and Kendal were the billy goats and they were such awesome actors!

Which one is Noah?

African Drumming Workshop

King Marong from Gambia came to visit us on Tuesday and teach us some African drumming, chants and dances. He plays the djembe drum and brought 50 more drums for us to have a go on.

The video isn't uploading...I'll try and add it later :-)

Our weaving

In maths last week we learned about patterns in weaving - and we learned to weave a mat and a kete. Here are some of our creative weavers showing off their work...

This week we are looking at patterns in Maori kowhaiwhai - here's a website with some examples to check out at home (scroll down a bit).

This movie shows some excerpts from our practices for an assembly item for 'Paint it All Black Day' at Freeville School.
We decided to show our support for the All Blacks by being:
- All Black supporters
- All Blacks doing the haka
- All Black cheerleaders
- All Blacks playing rugby

Glen and Jack (LT4) filmed us and made this movie for us.

Happy holidays!

How is your holiday going?

Nicole is getting ready to go to Timaru to visit her family and to go to her nephew's 21st...and probably doing lots of packing and thinking about what to take to Hawaii and Alaska!

Diane is in Australia visiting her family and hopefully missing out on our cold weather...

Tracy and her family have been on a holiday to the Marlborough Sounds where they saw lots of different fish and ate some kaimoana.

We didn't eat this crab though...he was a bit little.

Next week they are going to Auckland to see How to Train Your Dragon. There might be some Freeville families there too!

If you want, you can email Tracy about your holiday (and maybe include a photo) and we can share it here on the blog. :-)

Have a great time!
